Tone Capone is Executive Vice President for Universal Motown Records– that means if you’re interested in getting into the music business, he is the guy you need to talk to. That’s why Alycia Kaback invited Tone to become on of the first VIP Talent Connect Industry Experts at the first Summit in Bucks County, PA.
Alycia Kaback would like you to read a little more about Tone: In the volatile world of music, most industry insiders vie to climb the corporate ladder with just the hope of maintaining stability in an unpredictable business. The pivotal career launch began in 1990-91 at Stony Brook University as an undergraduate, where he worked on the air as a freshman radio DJ. Tone was able to establish relationships with key executives and rise in the interlocked worlds of radio and music. Commonly referred to by the press as, Tone’s “Midas Touch” has, for the past decade, altered the landscape of the recording industry. Garnering radio spin and stretching the mainstream envelope in the arena alongside artist super powers, such as R-Kelly, Mobb Deep, Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, Ciara, Beanie Siegel, Petey Pablo. His consistent diligence at TVT Records, where he promoted the careers of Yin Yang Twins, Pitbull, and Lil’ Jon, allowed him to be an instrumental leader for the promotions and marketing department at Jive, TVT and Motown Records, in the new millennium. In 2007, Tone founded MusicIndustryOnline.info, a social networking website designed for helping aspiring young artists, musicians, film makers, and other art entrepreneurs get connected. Currently, the Executive Vice President at CMG / Universal Motown, he elevating individual expression to prominence of sound, by helping others achieve their dreams. He explains further, “I went to Motown, where we released the first ever Salsa and Reggae ton album, Los Cocorocos. The current release showcases the multi-platinum artist Zion, formerly of Zion Y Lennox, with his debut Gold album, The Perfect Melody. In addition to being a crucial component of maintaining a solid foundation in the industry at CMG / Universal Motown, Tone is also the executive producer of Street Soldiers, the only political and news oriented show on New York’s Hot 97FM.
